Alison Doody

Alison Doody, born 11 November 1966 in Ireland, is an actress and model. Doody made her acting debut in a Bond movie, A View to a Kill in 1985. In 1989 she played an archaeologist with Nazi sympathies Elsa Schneider in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Siobhan Donevan in A Prayer for the Dying (1997), Charlotte Taffin (1988) and Rebecca Flannery Major League II (1994) were other characters. Doody was asked by a photographer to model and began to perform the role of a model. Then she began a career of commercial modelling. Doody strictly avoided fashion, thongs and glamour during her modeling career. In 1985, after being noticed by the casting directors of the James Bond new film, Doody acted in a tiny part of Jenny Flex as in A View to a Kill. Doody was named as one of the top 12 promising young Actors of 1986 by John Willis Screen World, Vol. 38. Doody was still only aged 18 at the time of her appearance in the Bond character. Today Doody is considered to be the youngest Bond girl. The year 1987 was the time Mickey Rourke starred in A Prayer for the Dying where she played IRA member Siobhan Doovan. Doody was a silent actress in the 1987 version to The Secret Garden, playing Archibald Craven's dream wife Lilias. The Storyteller episode from 1988 featured her in the lead character of Sapsorrow as well as John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. She played opposite Pierce Brosnan, in the 1988 film Taffin. She then took on her most memorable role to date as Austrian archaeologist and Nazisympathiser Dr. Elsa Schneider playing alongside Harrison Ford. Doody played alongside Sean Connery in the film, as Indy's dad. Doody has co-starred alongside Jonathan Pryce, in the British mini-series Selling Hitler. The series was inspired by The Hitler Diaries publishing scam. She subsequently relocated to Hollywood. The actress later became Flannery her agent as well as her girlfriend in Major League II. She was selected as the replacement for Cybill Shepherd, who had been L'Oreal's spokesperson. Doody was off acting for more than 10 years, came back in 2003 to play a small role in the British comedy The Actors in which Michael Caine played her as a character at the ceremony for awards. She also appeared in 2004 alongside Patrick Swayze as a television adaptation of King Solomon's Mines. She was also in Benjamin's Struggle, a 2005 publication about the Holocaust. In 2010, Doody was a character in Danny Dyer's film The Rapture (2010). Doody was later a guest on the medical drama of RTE The Clinic and was set to appear in a remake of the classic horror film The Asphyx but the project later stalled. Pam Jefferson is her role in the E4 Comedy Drama Beaver Falls' first of two seasons. In 2014, she appeared in We Still Kill the Old Way. In November of 2018 she was awarded the Almeria tierra de Cine Award and was awarded a Star on the Almeria Walk of Fame.
