Meg Ryan
Meg Ryan is a blonde-haired blue-eyed
lady with a vivacious personality. Her birth name is Margaret Mary Emily Hyra
to Susan (Duggan) and was she was an English teacher, and one-time actress.
Harry Hyra was a math teacher. Her family heritage includes Ruthenian, Polish
and Irish in addition to German. ("Hyra") is her Ruthenian surname
and "Ryan", is her maternal grandmother's maiden name. Meg graduated
in June 1979 from Bethel highschool, Bethel. She moved to New York and majored
as a journalist at New York University. To earn extra money while completing
her studies, Meg went into acting with her new name Meg Ryan. 1981 was her big
screen debut. She portrayed Candice Bergen's child in the film of George Cukor
Rich and Famous (1981). She auditioned , and was selected to play Betsy in the
daily television soap The World Turns the World turns (1956). From 1982 to
1984, she was a member of the team. Meg also had a part in the television
series One of the Boys (1982) but the show was later cancelled. In 1984, she
moved to Hollywood and was offered her first job with the western television
series Wildside (1985). Meg was in a small part in Top Gun (1986), and then was
cast in Steven Spielberg's Innerspace (1987), in which she appeared alongside
Dennis Quaid. In the remake of D.O.A., she starred again alongside Dennis
Quaid. (1988) and the couple tied the knot on Saint Valentine's Day in 1991. In
1989, Meg appeared in When Harry Met Sally... (1989) and the scene at the
restaurant gained a lot of attention. Meg was twice nominated for the Golden
Globe and BAFTA. In 1990, she co-starred with Tom Hanks in Joe Versus the
Volcano (1990) and this time she played three roles as DeDe/Angelica/Patricia.
She was also a part of the highly successful Sleepless in Seattle (1993) in
which she was nominated for the Golden Globe. Meg decided to be different from
her peers in 1994, by playing the part of Meg as a mother and wife who is
alcoholic in the film When a Man Loves a Woman (1994). Following that, she went
back to "cute" with both I.Q. (1994) and French Kiss (1995). People
Magazine voted Meg as one of the top 50 beautiful women on earth in 1994.
